Meet Peri ***CURRENTLY IN VANCOUVER!!!
• Age: 6 months
• Sex: Spayed Female
• Breed: Mixed
• Color: Brown / White
• Weight: 5.2 kg (11.5 lbs)
• Height: 32 cm (shoulder height)
Rescue Story
Peri entered a city shelter in September alongside Hanee and sister, Fona. She is believed to be Hanee’s puppy. Having spent her entire young life in a shelter environment, she is now ready to experience what a real home feels like.
Social with People
Peri can be slightly shy at first. She will take treats from new people and, after warming up a bit more, allows petting comfortably.
Even with someone she has just met, she can be gently picked up with an arm under her belly. Because she has only known shelter life, her social exposure is still limited. However, we believe she will open her heart quickly in a loving home environment.
She has met children under 13 years old and showed little interest — calm and neutral.
Social with Other Dogs
Peri is very friendly and affectionate with other dogs. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and invite them to play — even dogs much larger than herself!
She enjoys playing with all dogs and gets along beautifully with her sister, Fona.
Peri does rely on other dogs for comfort and shows more confidence and stability when another dog is present. A home with a resident dog would likely help her adjust more smoothly.
With Cats
Her reaction to cats has not yet been observed. A cat test can be arranged upon request.
Energy Level
Peri has a generally low energy level and enjoys resting calmly. That said, once she settles into a home, she may show playful “zoomies” and new personality traits that were not visible in the shelter environment. Overall, she is not a high-energy dog.
Walks
She has not yet had proper leash-walking experience. When leash pressure is applied, she may freeze. She will need patient, consistent leash training to build confidence outdoors.
Additional Notes
• No food guarding toward people or dogs
• No separation anxiety observed
• May initially feel uneasy if she is the only dog (used to living with her littermate)
• Rarely barks
• Calm in a kennel
• Currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty
• Has not yet eliminated during walks
Peri is a gentle, affectionate puppy who is ready to blossom in a loving home. With patience, guidance, and companionship — especially from another dog — she will grow into a confident and devoted family member.
