Kitten Gecko was found and taken into a home when he was about a month old where the family discovered he was very affectionate, loves warm blankets, hunting loose strings, chasing string toys and eating his wet food, all the things a kitten should love. Gecko turned 6 months old in February so he’s definitely still all kitten. Unfortunately he couldn’t stay with the family as he couldn’t go when they moved so now he’s looking for his forever home. Gecko has found being at the shelter rather stressful, understandably, so he’s still working on trusting again. Patience, and love, is needed to let Gecko again shine as a the amazing kitten he is. Gecko is blind in one eye (unknown cause) but as animals do, it doesn’t stop him from living a full life. Gecko’s adoption fee of $150 includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FELV, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Home Fur Good has trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$300 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
