Meet Sesame!
Sesame is a very shy four month old female kitten looking for a patient understanding human and calm quiet home to build her confidence in. Sesame is an undersocialized young cat who needs a human that understands her sensitive nature and is willing to give her all the time and space she needs to come out of survival mode and adjust to her forever home. Sesame would thrive with a human who will let her interact on her own terms and slowly help build her confidence with people over time. Sesame may always be wary of new people and places and would do best in an environment that can accommodate her shy nature.
Sesame came in with feline friends and seems to feel more comfortable in the presence of other cats. She may do best in a home that already has a cat in it, who can show her that life as a housecat is not so scary. However, we still recommend slow introductions between Sesame and any cat companions in her forever home. A slow intro will help ensure that both Sesame and her new feline friend(s) feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to each other`s presence.
Due to her sensitive nature, Sesame would do best in a low-traffic home with no young children.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

6 years or older (or special needs): $50

Senior to Senior Program: For adopters age 60 or older, adoption fees are reduced to $15 if the animal is 3 years or older. This service is made possible through the Pets for the Elderly Foundation. You will be asked to provide proof of age.
Veteran Pet Program: Veterans and active military personnel receive 25% off of adoption fees. Valid military ID is required.

We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
