My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rogan came in as a stray but we believe the person that had her was the actual owner. He is healthy with no known issues. Good on a leash and very energetic.

NOTE: The shelter's budget does NOT cover vet exams for these animals. We recommend that each adopted animal get a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption.

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Call for an appointment to come meet pets in our facility.

2.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our process is very simple. We have a one page adoption contract you fill out when you choose a pet to adopt.

3.

Pay Fee

Our adoption fee is $40.00 for any animal unless otherwise noted.

4.

Take the Pet Home

The pet can go home with you on the same day! We may be able to help with some supplies also.

Additional adoption info

Adopters must sign an adoption contract requiring the spay or neuter of the animal being adopted, if not done so already. Our common adoption fee is only $40.00. We have no veterinary services available and cannot guarantee the health or temperament of an animal available for adoption. We do not have a pre-application or inspection requirement. The shelter is not open to the public and you must make an appointment to view pets available for adoption.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter is not open to the general public and an appointment is necessary to view pets in our shelter. We do off-site pet adoption events as often as we can, when we can find a location that will allow us to set up.

More about this shelter

The North Texas Animal Control Authority is operated as a private sole-proprietorship company. We do this so decision making is done at the simplest level. We are an animal services contractor, providing small municipal entities up to large counties with full time animal control. Most animals in our shelter have been found as stray animals or surrendered by their prior owners for a variety of reasons.
