Hi! My name is Morticia, or Morti for short. I am a 4-year-old, 60 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I do best being crated when I am left home alone.
I love people and have been working on my manners for greeting new friends! I have done well with men, women, and older children. I can be a bit too much for small children at the moment. I love to spend time with my family and would love to be someone’s Velcro Dog, affection is one of my favorite things!
I do well with other dogs after proper introductions. I have been working on my social cues as I can be pushy and forward with other dogs which doesn’t always lend to them enjoying my company, and I have improved significantly with the help of my foster siblings who are socially adept. I would love to have a well-behaved companion to help continue showing me the ropes, or I could also be placed by myself. I love having access to toys, especially balls, and I have been learning how to play fetch! I would do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can have the space to safely run and play. I cannot go to a home with cats.
I do well in the car and love to join for rides! My leash skills are a work in progress as I currently pull quite hard and am still learning how to calmly, quietly pass other dogs we see out walking. I have been doing well learning how to positively redirect my attention back to my handler. I have also learned the cues for sit, down, come, drop it, and to make eye contact when told to “work”. I am an intelligent dog who is still learning the appropriate ways to interact with the world, and would thrive with an experienced handler of my own. Is yours the home I’m searching for?
