My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chuck Norris is a 3-year-old sweetheart who came to us as a stray, so his past is a bit of a mystery, but his love for people is crystal clear 🧡. He wants to be everyone's friend and will happily soak up any attention that comes his way.

When he arrived, Chuck had a few scratches from outdoor kitty disagreements, and at first he was a little swatty with us. It didn't take long to figure out why. Chuck really disliked being confined in a kennel, and once he had more space to roam, explore, and relax, he became his friendly, charming self again 😺✨

He also has a funky little kink in his tail! It doesn't cause him any discomfort at all, but we can't help wondering what kind of adventure led to that cute little bend 🐾💛

Chuck tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV can still live long, happy, normal lives, and Chuck is well on his way. He does need to be an indoor only cat and the only cat in his future home, not because he's unwell, but to ensure he doesn't accidentally pass FIV to other feline friends.

If you're looking for a loving, people focused companion with quirks, charm, and tons of affection to give, Chuck Norris is ready to win your heart ❤️🏡

Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
