Meet Zippy — A Gentle, Seasoned Soul Looking for His Forever Lap
Zippy is a 12‑year‑old male dachshund with a soft heart, a calm spirit, and a lifetime of love still to give. Weighing around 13 pounds, he’s the perfect size to curl up beside you and enjoy the quiet moments that make life sweet.
He’s had his teeth cleaned, vaccines updated, is microchipped, and is heartworm negative — this little gentleman is fully vetted and ready for his next chapter.
✨ Zippy’s Special Qualities
Zippy is vision‑impaired but not blind. He navigates beautifully with a little guidance and will follow your voice or the gentle pat of your hand on your leg. Once he knows your rhythm, he moves with confidence and trust.
He is potty trained, kennel trained, and well‑mannered, though he’d much prefer to sleep next to his person. He knows some commands and has the kind of calm, steady presence that only comes with age and wisdom.
✨ His Personality
Zippy is laid‑back, gentle, and incredibly loving. He’s currently ignoring the other dogs in his foster home but is slowly warming up as he settles in. He’s not demanding, not needy — just a sweet, quiet companion who wants to be near his person and enjoy a peaceful life.
He is a total love bug who will absolutely blossom in a settled, adult home with patient, seasoned companions who appreciate the beauty of a senior dog.
✨ The Home He’s Hoping For
Zippy isn’t looking for chaos or adventure — he’s ready to chill by your side, enjoy soft blankets, gentle affection, and the comfort of a predictable routine. If you’re searching for a loyal, easygoing companion who will adore you endlessly, Zippy may be the perfect match.

Meet the Pet
We have an in person meet and greet with the pet to ensure it is a good fit for both the dog and the family

Additional adoption info
We look to match the dogs personality, energy, and size to the potential adoptive family lifestyle and dynamics. A family looking for a calm snuggle buddy is not a good match for a working dog that needs to be walked several miles a day to be content and successful in the home.

APAC has bi-monthly in person adoption events at the Temple, Texas Petsmart, typically on the first and third Saturday of the month. There is no need to wait for an adoption event, with an approved application we will schedule private meet and greets at a time convenient for the foster home and the potential adopter.
