My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thunder is a stunning, big-hearted boy with a presence as striking as his name. With his beautiful frame and those hypnotic, exotic eyes that seem to look right into your soul, he turns heads wherever he goes. But behind that majestic look is the sweetest, gentlest spirit you could hope to meet.

Thunder is curious about the world around him, quietly observing before he joins in. He can be just a wee bit shy at first, taking his time to feel safe, but once he trusts you, his soft, affectionate nature shines through. A few gentle pets and kind words are all it takes to win this tender boy over, and soon you’ll have a loyal companion by your side.

If you’re looking for a calm, loving sweetheart with movie-star looks and a heart of gold, Thunder is ready to rumble his way right into your home — and your heart.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
