My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 10 years

Meet Mac, a sweet and affectionate senior gentleman with a heart as big as his smile. This handsome boy is looking for his forever home, ideally a cozy place where he can share all the love he has to give. Mac walks beautifully on a leash, making him the perfect companion for relaxed neighborhood strolls or sunny afternoon adventures. He already knows commands like “sit” and “stay,” and he’s always happy to show off his good manners (especially if there’s treats involved!). Whether it’s curling up beside you for a movie night or greeting you with a happy tail wag at the door, Mac’s favorite place is right by your side. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will fill your days with warmth, gratitude, and unconditional love, Mac is ready to meet you. His forever family is out there, maybe it’s you?

Mac is:
- Open to kids
- Open to cats
- Open to dogs with an introduction

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
