My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Could this kitty “Jimmy” his way into your heart?

Beautiful but timid Jimmy came from an overcrowded municipal shelter where he was defensive and scared. He has shown that fear to us, but is on a journey towards opening up and learning that humans aren’t so bad.

About Jimmy
- At shelter
- Jimmy is still adjusting to his life at the shelter, but has shown great strides!
- Due to his tough-guy act on the streets, Jimmy has developed an impressive growl. He hisses when he’s approached too quickly and swats at hands when they come too close to his face. He wants you to know that while he may not be ready for physical affection yet, he is a very strong communicator!
- With his white face and gorgeous patterned body, Jimmy is a certified cutie!
- Jimmy is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.
- Jimmy is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people.
- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.
- Jimmy is food motivated and enjoys a good snack! Giving him some Churu from a backscratcher or placing his food bowls in front of him are sure ways to gain his trust!
- Though initially nervous and defensive, Jimmy has been relaxing into pets from the backscratcher and particularly enjoys them on his chin and cheeks.
- Jimmy has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

Jimmy’s Ideal Home
- We are unsure how Jimmy would do with other cats or pets.
- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
- Jimmy would benefit from having a safe space, such as a small room or bathroom, where he can stay when first adopted to help with the transition to his new home.
- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Jimmy settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Jimmy with a successful transition to his forever home.

Jimmy is looking for a patient home where he can continue to learn the joys of letting his guard down. It’s been a tough road for this guy, but the future is bright! Schedule a meeting with him today!
