Meet Jelly Roll – A Life Saved Just in Time
Jelly Roll’s story is one of survival and second chances. He was living outdoors when a kind community member noticed he had a neck wound and was limping on his right front leg. After several days of effort, he was safely drop-trapped and brought to the vet — a decision that likely saved his life.
Jelly Roll is approximately 3–4 years old, already neutered (with an ear tip), and unfortunately was not microchipped. He tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and is currently being treated with antibiotics and pain medication for his wounds. He is safe now and healing well.
FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, normal lives — especially in a stable indoor home. FIV is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, meaning Jelly Roll can potentially live peacefully with other friendly, non-aggressive cats. We are happy to speak with potential adopters about what FIV truly means and answer any questions.
After surviving outside while injured and immunocompromised, Jelly Roll deserves a calm, loving home where he can continue to recover and never have to fend for himself again. He is looking for a patient adopter who understands that he may need a little time to fully decompress and adjust to indoor life.
Jelly Roll’s difficult days are behind him. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the future he was almost denied.
If you’re ready to offer a safe, indoor forever home to a resilient, deserving boy, please apply to adopt Jelly Roll. 💙
