My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to gorgeous long-haired calico, Earth! Sweet Earth is a petite cat with opinions about her world. She will take her time assessing new environments, making extra sure it is a safe space for her. With time and patience, her confidence will grow, and she will seek high spots to look out over her territory. High spots with windows are among her favorite resting places. Earth is a solid napper, building up her energy for the play sessions she is eager to have. She loves showing off her acrobatic skills and seemingly limitless energy when chasing teaser toys. Earth does enjoy petting and napping next to her people but likes to be the one to choose when these things happen.

Are you Earth’s new family? If you are looking for a longhaired beauty and know how to give a cat the time and space they need to acclimate, you just might be!

Adoption Requirements

To adopt a pet from PAWS Chicago, you must:
1. Be at least 21 years of age
2. Have a U.S. government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or state ID
3. Verify that you are allowed to have a pet of the breed and size where you currently live
4. Be able to spend the time and resources necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for your pet
5. Bring along all family members (including children) to meet your new cat or dog. Be sure to bring any resident dogs if you are adopting a dog.
6. Be able to take the pet home on the day of adoption
7. Be available to spend up to an hour with an Adoption Counselor to discuss the responsibility of owning a pet and making a lifetime commitment

More about this shelter

PAWS Chicago is the city's largest No Kill humane organization, focused on solutions to end the killing of homeless pets.
