Amber didn’t start life with cozy beds or sunny window seats.
She began as a feral kitty, learning to survive outdoors. About four years ago, she found safety as a barn cat — doing her job quietly, watching the world from a distance. And somewhere along the way, something beautiful happened… Amber began to trust.
Little by little, she realized people could be kind. That hands could be gentle. That life didn’t always have to feel uncertain.
Now, at approximately 6 years old, Amber is ready for something new — retirement from barn life and the comfort of an indoor-only home.
She is shy and sensitive, the kind of cat who bonds deeply but needs patience in the beginning. She would do best as an only pet in a calm, adult home (or one with older, respectful children). Once she feels safe, Amber blossoms in the quiet.
Her long, luxurious coat matches her gentle spirit, and someone familiar with long-haired kitties would be a wonderful fit to help her look and feel her best.
Amber has spent years being brave. Now she deserves soft blankets, peaceful evenings, and a forever person who sees the beauty in a quiet soul.

Solano Kitten Network is a foster-based rescue, but we also maintain an adoption center at PetSmart Vacaville. We host adoption events every Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. Some of our kittens are housed at the center and can be viewed during store hours. For approved applicants, we’re happy to schedule Meet and Greets by appointment on days other than Saturday.

In addition to adoptions, we assist community members by offering access to low-cost spay and neuter services to help reduce the local cat population.
