My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It is a very well-known fact that we have a major weakness for honorary bulldogs, and we ESPECIALLY love a verifiable 'real-dog' with long legs and a snout that works for breathing. So, ZERO surprise that we had to say yes to saving this very, very good boy when we saw him land in the shelter.Amigo is going to be some lucky, lucky human's very best friend, and we are already so, so jealous of the family who gets to claim him as their own.Amigo is so sweet, so patient, and so, so loving. He's not feeling very well yet, so we're not exactly sure about all his 'likes', but we know he is the perfect houseguest and was definitely once part of a family. He's potty trained, great on a leash, does NOT seem to like being in a crate, but he is totally non-destructive at home, so who needs one of those! We're super excited to see who this guy is and to see his apps flow in!Apply now for your new soul-mate To see more of our dogs, please go to https://austinbulldogrescue.com to see who is available and to learn how to get involved with ABR.

3.

Approve Application

If applicants are approved, they will be notified by our team via email. They may or may not get a match, at this step.

4.

Applicants must go to the foster's home to meet their match in person and are encouraged to bring their dog(s) and kid(s), if applicable.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

Review medical records, sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee in full.

6.

Take the Pet Home

Adopters must pick up their dog in person and get them home safely. Sorry, ABR cannot ship dogs.

Additional adoption info

Austin Bulldog Rescue is 100% foster-based, and does not have a shelter or facility where applicants can come meet dogs before applying. Meet and greets with a potential match will happen after an adoption application is approved. ABR is a matching rescue -- while our teams take dog preference into account, we ultimately match families to the dog best suited for their home and lifestyle. The more thoroughly you answer the interview questions, the better the matching experience on all sides!

ABR does not operate a shelter or facility where applicants can come meet our dogs in person. All of our dogs are in separate, loving foster homes in or around Austin.
