Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Penny!
Penny is a beautiful 3-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix weighing about 55 pounds. She was brought in as a stray on Valentine’s Day, and now she’s ready to find a home where she’ll be loved every day of the year.
Since Penny came to us as a stray, we don’t know anything about her past. What we do know is that she’s a stunning girl who deserves a fresh start and a family committed to helping her settle in and feel secure. Like many dogs adjusting to shelter life, her true personality will continue to blossom once she’s in a stable home environment.
Penny is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested, so she’s ready for adoption. She’ll benefit from patience, consistency, and positive guidance as she transitions into her new life.
If you’re ready to give a deserving girl the second chance she’s been waiting for, Penny would love to meet you.

More about this shelter
Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
