Hi there. I’m Curious, a big, handsome black cat with an even bigger heart.
When I first arrived, the world felt big and scary. I spent most of my time tucked safely away, watching from my hiding spot. New sounds, new people, new everything… it was a lot for a shy guy like me.
Now? I happily soak up attention from my trusted humans. Once I know you, I’m a soft, affectionate shadow who just wants to be near you.
I’m a bit unsure around other cats, so I do best with calm, respectful feline friends who understand personal space and won’t rush up too close. I’ve also met a few dogs, and they scare me, so I tend to hiss and growl. Because of that, I’d be happiest in a dog-free home—either as your only cat or possibly with the right laid-back kitty companion.
One of my favorite things to do is perch by the window and try to catch the birds that flutter past. It keeps me entertained for hours and lets me enjoy the outside world from the comfort of indoors.
The good news? I’m neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, which means I’m all ready to pack my bags and head home with you.

Before you are eligible to adopt any animal from Border Paws Animal Shelter, you must complete our Adoption Application, and must be approved as an adopter.
To complete an adoption you must:
be a pre-approved adopter
be at least 18 years of age
visit the shelter to meet the animals
provide at least one piece of photo identification with current address
Applications are reviewed within 48 hours. If approved, our Kennel Coordinator will contact you to set up a time to introduce you to any animals that may best suit what you are looking for, or the animal you've requested a visit with.
All dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption have
been spayed or neutered
received at least one set of vaccines
received a microchip for identification
