Meet Kiwi! One of our amazing core volunteers reached out with a special request for a very sweet girl named Kiwi. 4-year-old, 61lb Boxer mix Kiwi was living her absolute best life right next door to our amazing volunteer, Joe. Tragically, she recently lost her humans. In a beautiful act of friendship, Joe stepped up immediately to care for her and keep her safe while we work to find her the perfect "forever" chapter.
Personality: Cuddly, loving, and incredibly affectionate. Wants to sleep on top of you or in your lap!🤗
Goal: We want to find her a home just as full of love as the one she lost. 💖

Moira, the founder of Toby’s Rescue, fell in love with a photo on Adopt-a-Pet of an adorable little Havanese-Shih-Tzu mix who was rescued and fostered by a rescuer in Puerto Rico. Toby, a now confident and very handsome pup, surprisingly came from less than ideal living conditions. At two and a half, he was already living a grim life chained up in a dirt yard. After six weeks being treated and given regular and good meal, he was ready ready to gain his freedom wings and he arrived in the DMV to be picked up by Carl and Moira who were ready to give this adorable guy a second chance at life. Toby is the driving reason for Toby's Rescue. He and we wanted to give more of his friends, (satos) a second chance at life. Moira & Toby and their stateside team have been working with rescuers in Puerto Rico since early 2019 transporting dogs to the DMV area to help those satos find their forever homes. We are grateful every day that this amazing little boy, Toby become the inspiration and the fuel driving our determination to save satos off the streets of Puerto Rico. We may not save them all, but we can save many with the help of the dedicated volunteers and supporters of Toby’s Rescue.
