Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Reserved at First, Devoted for Life: Meet Oscar
Oscar isn’t here for the spotlight — he’s here for connection.
He’s the kind of dog who watches first, processes second, and loves deeply once he knows you’re his. Thoughtful and sensitive, Oscar takes his time with new people and new dogs. But that quiet start? It’s just the beginning. Once he feels safe, he this 44 lbs terrier mix leans in — literally and figuratively — and shows off his affectionate, loyal, love bug self.
He enjoys playtime and does well in doggy day care, where he’s been building confidence little by little. Still, at heart, he’s an introvert. Oscar would thrive in a calm home with patient humans who appreciate slow mornings, peaceful walks, and evenings spent curled up on the couch. He doesn’t need constant excitement — he needs consistency, kindness, and his own people.
Somewhere in his past, Oscar found himself alone and was picked up as a stray by one of our shelter partners. We may never know what he’s been through, but we do know this: at 2 years old, he’s ready for a fresh start, and he’s doing the work to trust again.
For the right family — especially one that understands that the best bonds take time — Oscar won’t just be a dog. He’ll be your quiet, steady, whole-hearted companion.
