My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Mazzy! I'm a 3-year-old Goldendoodle weighing in at 46 lbs. The Olympics may be over, but I still think I could win a gold medal in being a wonderful family dog. I love to play, I'm affectionate, I'm curious and friendly, and I'm an overall keeper! Now I just need to find some loving humans who want to pick me to be part of their family's team.

Favorite Things: Mazzy works hard and plays hard! This active gal loves to run, to play with toys, and to play fetch. After a happy day of exercise and romping around, she is a good sleeper. She also enjoys a good treat and is not picky about nibbles. In terms of dislikes, she can be a bit jumpy around bikes, oncoming cars, and motor scooters when she's out on a walk.

Training & Manners: Mazzy has the makings of a fine lady! She is housetrained if let out regularly. She walks well on a leash, loves car rides, sleeps in the people bed at night, and generally has good basic manners.

Health & Care:  Mazzy is spayed, heartworm negative and up-to-date on vaccinations. She'll just need her monthly flea and heart preventatives, like any dog. As a Doodle, she'll need professional grooming every few months to keep her coat in good condition. Luckily, this good-natured girl will let you bathe her and clean her paws in between grooms.

Other Animals: A gregarious girl, Mazzy adores other dogs! She probably would need to test with an older dog, if the older dog is laid back and doesn’t appreciate puppyish energy. She hasn't been observed around cats yet, but her foster thinks she'd be OK with them.

Children: This sweetheart is great with children of all ages.

Ideal Home: While this good, quiet girl could do well in an apartment, condo, or single-family home, she'll need a family who can commit to giving her the exercise and activity level she needs.

Overall: This affectionate, adorable dog deserves a wonderful family with lots of love.

Could Mazzy be the best friend you've been looking for? Then go like grease lightening to visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $550.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
