My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eve is a stunning young mama with luminous golden eyes and an even brighter personality. After surviving life outdoors living in a shed (and temperatures near zero), Eve hasn’t lost an ounce of her sweetness - in fact, she’s one of the most affectionate and friendly cats you’ll ever meet.

On Christmas Eve, she gave birth to three precious kittens. And through it all, she has remained unbelievably friendly, trusting, and full of love.

Eve is incredibly playful and still very much a kitten at heart. She loves to chase, explore, and chat away about her day - she’s wonderfully talkative and will happily hold a conversation with you. Her favorite place in the world? Curled up right against her foster, soaking up all the love she can get. She absolutely adores belly rubs and will happily flop over to ask for more.

Eve will make a great addition to any home.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

We get many inquiries, so a submitted application is the quickest way to move to the next steps. An approved application is even better!

2.
Interview

You may be contacted if we have further questions after reviewing your application. This usually happens over the phone or by text.

3.
Meet the Pet

Visit Carmel's Pawz Pet Cafe or Petco off 116th & Keystone! And we have even more at fosters' houses. Contact us to arrange a meeting.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

A POMH volunteer will initiate the checkout process using a program called Shelterluv. This is where you review the Adoption Contract.

5.
Pay Fee

Following the Adoption Contract, you will pay the adoption fee. This fee helps cover a portion of cost for the kitty while in our custody.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Then it's the fun part where you can bring your new friend home! Adoption papers & medical records will be emailed to you.

• Once you get settled (it takes time!), we encourage you to keep in touch. Nothing brings us more joy than to hear adoption success stories, and we would love to share those on our website/social media for others to enjoy too.
• We try to assist post-adoption the best we can. We remain available to give advice and/or point you to the right resources.

Go meet their pets

We always have many available cats up for adoption. There are tons in Carmel at Pawz Pet Cafe and there are always several in the Petco Adoption Room off 116th & Keystone. Since we are a foster-based rescue, many are with a foster, but don't hesitate to contact us.

Meetings can be arranged to meet the kitty of your dreams! We also bring in more groups of cats and kittens to Petco every Saturday from 12-4pm. Come meet our furry friends, wonderful volunteers, and head Cat Rescue Lady, Martha Strong.

Our cats are all spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on their FVRCP (distemper) vaccines, and given general de-wormer. Most of our cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and rabies shots are given to most cats over 3 months old.

More about this rescue

We are a Federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit feline rescue group established in 2018. We work in many Indiana counties, including Hamilton, Marion, Delaware, and many places in between. We run on 100% volunteers and donations.

Our Mission:
To rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home cats and kittens in need. We aim to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering in order to create a community that values the well-being of all cats. And even if we can't help directly, we utilize our contacts and various resources to assist to the best of our ability.

Our Values:
- We are a no-kill rescue. We believe that every cat deserves a chance at life. We do all we can to rehabilitate even the most troubled cats and place them somewhere they can live their best lives.
- We do NOT support or allow declawing of our cats. We sometimes rescue cats that have previously been declawed and may consider placing them with a family that prefers a declaw.
- We require our adoptees to be indoor cats for their safety and well-being.
