Mabel is a 3.5-month-old calico sweetheart and a total lap kitten at heart. She is one of the most loving kittens we’ve ever had — the kind who melts into you the second you sit down. She purrs nonstop, makes the cutest little chirping sounds when she’s ready for more pets, and kneads happily like it’s her full-time job.
She’s curious and playful when she explores, but her absolute favorite place is right in your lap, soaking up affection. Mabel doesn’t just tolerate love — she *seeks* it. She presses into your hands, relaxes her whole body, and looks at you like you are the best thing that’s ever happened to her. What makes Mabel even more special is where she started. For the first three months of her life, she survived outside — hunting for food and never knowing the comfort of a gentle human touch. She had never been held. Never been cuddled. Never felt truly safe.
The day a volunteer finally trapped her and brought her inside, everything changed. The moment she stepped out of the trap and into our director’s home, it was like she just knew she was safe. Within minutes, she climbed into a lap, started purring, and began kneading — as if she had been waiting her whole life for that moment. Now, she spends her days purring, exploring, and soaking up every ounce of love she can get — no longer worried about her next meal, just enjoying being someone’s baby.
