My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB January 26, 2022

Kato is a very affectionate cat; he wants to be petted all the time, especially on the chin. He has become more vocal every day, and will greet you with his cute meows. He is playful, and depending on his mood, will prefer his laser toy or feather wand, or just a random plush toy to push around. He will follow you from room to room, and brush up against your legs. Once you're settled, he will sit near or on you to keep you company.

Kato is a laid-back, affectionate companion who has officially mastered the art of being your shadow. After a bit of a shy start, he has blossomed into a professional cuddler who is ready to find his forever home. He loves to follow his humans around the house and will relax right near you. He is a big fan of "helping" with your career, specifically by climbing on your laptop while you work. His hobbies include watching bird TV and chasing laser toys.

He can sometimes get a bit overstimulated; he’s a sensitive soul who prefers to ask for affection rather than having it forced upon him. But for a patient owner, he offers the ultimate reward: a purring, lap-sitting companion who just wants to be where you are.

He might be able to get along with cats given a proper introduction, and so far, he has expressed curiosity in meeting the resident cat.

He loves rolling around in catnip, which will then randomly turn into zoomies. He loves to make air biscuits while being petted. He will ask for pets from anyone in his vicinity by rubbing against their legs and then headbutting their hand.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $250 per adult cat, and $330 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $250.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $192.50 per cat vs. $385 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
