Meet Lexis – A Beautiful Calico with a Brave Heart 🧡🖤🤍
Hi there! My name is Lexis, and I’m a stunning 3-year-old calico with the most expressive green eyes and a heart full of love.
I was found by kind, concerned citizens who could tell I was a sweet and friendly girl — just very scared. Sadly, their other pets didn’t welcome me, so they reached out to the wonderful team at Billy the Kidden Rescue to help me find my fresh start.
Once I entered rescue, I was spayed, brought up to date on vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and received my rabies vaccine. I did have some sore, scabby ears that needed treatment, and later developed an ear infection. With proper vet care and lots of love from my amazing foster mom, I started feeling so much better.
For a while, I had to stay in quarantine while everyone tried to figure out what was causing my crusty ears. After diagnostics and vet care, we learned the best news — I’m not contagious! It turns out stress may have played a big role, and once I settled in and felt safe, my ears improved beautifully on their own.
When I was finally able to explore and meet the other kitties, I was a bit nervous. I like to take my time. But once I realized I was safe, I blossomed. Now I love jumping onto the couch or bed to snuggle with my foster mom. I adore laying in her lap, getting brushed, and soaking up all the gentle pets.
I’m a calm, chill girl who truly loves her humans. I would do best as the only pet in a quiet home — no dogs or young children, please. I tolerate other animals, but if they get too close, I’ll give a little swat to remind them I prefer my space. I really just want my very own person to share.
I may be a little shy at first, but once I trust you, I promise to be your most loyal, cuddly companion.
A few of my favorite things:
• Fancy Feast gravy (yum!)
• Purina One Adult dry food
• Temptations treats (I LOVE them!)
• Bird and squirrel watching from a sunny window
• Warm beds, cozy cat trees, and safe indoor naps
There’s nothing better than stretching out in a sunny spot, knowing I’m safe and loved.
If you’re looking for the purrfect calm, devoted companion with stunning calico beauty and a gentle soul, I just might be your girl.
I mean… just look at me. 🐾💛

More about this rescue
🐾 Our Mission at Billy the Kidden Rescue 🐾
Billy the Kidden Rescue is a VDACS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014 and supported by a network of over 60 active foster homes across Hampton Roads.
Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce the feral cat population in our community by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens—transforming them into loving, adoptable pets and placing them in safe, forever homes.
💙 Our Heart is in TNR
We are proud advocates of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return)—the humane, effective method of managing community cats. Through this program, feral cats are:
✔️ Trapped
✔️ Neutered or Spayed
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Ear-Tipped (as a universal sign they've been fixed)
✔️ Returned to live safely in their outdoor colonies without contributing to overpopulation.
We are actively working to promote legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads.
🐱 Feral Kitten Socialization
Our feral kitten socialization program is one of a kind—with a 90% success rate in helping feral-born kittens become affectionate, in-home pets. Through experienced fostering, patience, and love, these kittens learn to trust, play, and thrive indoors.
💪 Get Involved!
We’re always looking for passionate animal lovers to join our team. Help us make a difference by becoming a:
Foster
Volunteer
Transporter
TNR Trapper
🎁 Support Our Work
Donations keep our rescue running, and we’re always in need of supplies! Check out our wish lists to see what’s needed most:
