My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppy (M9) is a three-year-old female cat with a soft spirit and a quiet charm. She came to us from a hoarding situation in Mauston involving a surplus of belongings and a large number of cats. Working alongside the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, we now have official custody of Poppy and the other cats involved.

Poppy was housed alongside Turnip and has shown herself to be a gentle, steady presence. Like many of the cats from this case, she may need a little time to adjust to new surroundings, but beneath that initial caution is a sweet and loving girl.

She does well with other cats and would thrive in a calm home where she can build confidence at her own pace. With patience and consistency, Poppy will reward her people with quiet companionship and trust.

Poppy is ready for a fresh start — one filled with stability, kindness, and the safety she’s always deserved.

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. If you’re ready to give Poppy the loving home she’s been waiting for, please fill out an application on our website. https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-cats

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process prioritizes accessibility, equality, and inclusivity. An application can be completed online or in person, ensuring accessibility for all potential adopters. Additionally, our application is available in Spanish to cater to a diverse range of applicants.

Once an application is submitted and approved, we facilitate adoption meet-and-greets on-site at our shelter's adoption center. This allows potential adopters to interact with the animals they are interested in and make informed decisions about their adoption.

Overall, our adoption program is designed to make the process as smooth and inclusive as possible, ensuring that each animal finds a loving and permanent home.
