A Little Bit About Me

Butterfly is a beautiful young tortie ready for her forever home! She is a lovely blend of playful, vocal, and affectionate, but needs a bit of time to settle into new places. Although she may start out on the shy side, once comfortable, she enjoys head rubs, Churu treats, and wand toy play. She came from an indoor home with other cats, but would like to be the center of attention as the only four-legged friend in her new home. Come and meet this special lady with a soft voice and gentle approach and see if she can be the forever friend you're looking for!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
