Hi! I’m Gumbo!
I’m about 12 weeks old, which means I’m supposed to only know things like toys and naps and how fast I can zoom in a straight line. Instead, my brother Gazpacho and I were found abandoned at Independence Dam State Park. We were in pretty rough shape and were missing patches of fur and definitely needed some help. I didn’t feel very good, and I didn’t look my best either. But I’m still just a puppy. I still wanted to wag my tail. I still wanted someone to notice me.
Luckily for us, we were brought to some really nice people that love animals and were able to help us! Now I have warm meals, soft blankets, and people who are helping my coat grow back in. I’m starting to understand that life isn’t always cold and confusing. Sometimes it’s gentle hands and kind voices.
I’m still healing, but I’m also still hopeful. I like to explore. I like to be close. I like to believe my very best days are ahead of me.
I’m ready to find a home where I can grow up the way a puppy should, safe, loved, and never left behind again.
