Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This handsome sweetheart is Smokey 💙 If you are looking for a kitty that needs a home, look no further! 😍 He is very sweet and loves humans, but does not enjoy the company of other kitties so should be the only cat in the home! 🛑 Smokey is FIV+ but this is NOT a reason to avoid adopting him! FIV is not transmittable to humans or other types of animals!
If interested, please fill out this Google form and we will be in touch shortly!

The adoption fee is $75 and includes spay/neuter, combo test, RCP vaccine and rabies vaccine (if old enough) A $100 deposit is required if the dog or cat has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption. This fee is refundable once the animal has surgery.

Their adoption process
1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
Always best to first visit the Shelter without your pet. This will allow you to see if the dog or cat is what you appreciate in a pet.
2.
Meet the Pet
Take the dog for a walk or visit the cat area and play with the cat / kitten.
3.
Sign Adoption Contract
A meet and greet is required if you own another dog at home. This provides a safe environment for all concerned. No cat meet & greets.
Additional adoption info
A $100 fee is required if the dog or cat has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption. This fee is refundable once the animal has surgery, and proof is submitted of the spay / neuter. The adoption fee will provide the required veterinarian services.

More about this shelter
Brownstown is an Animal Shelter based in Brownstown Township. We spay and neuter every pet, and provide more than the required shots via Southgate Animal Hospital. We want a good fit for the Adopter and the animal, so we ask questions regarding your current situation of pets and family. We conduct meet and greets to make sure the dogs live peacefully together. Information is key to a good adoption, and we try to provide everything you'll need to be a successful pet owner!
