My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Rosie 🤍**

Rosie is a beautiful Akbash with an incredibly sweet, gentle nature. She is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s close to her people. While her breed is traditionally known for livestock guarding, Rosie’s heart is firmly set on being a beloved indoor companion.

Rosie thrives in a home environment where she can relax, bond, and be part of the family. She is not being placed as a working livestock guardian dog and will be adopted strictly as an **indoor companion**. She enjoys companionship, routine, and the comfort of a stable home.

As a large-breed dog, Rosie will need a family that understands the needs, temperament, and management of guardian breeds. **Large-breed experience is required**, and adopters must be prepared for the size, strength, and commitment that comes with this breed.

Rosie is ready to give her whole heart to a home that will cherish her as the devoted companion she was meant to be.

More about this shelter

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, and no monies from national humane organizations or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations. The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home. We value every animal equally and consider all to be priceless
