My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE HELP TINKERBELL FIND THE PURRFECT HOME!
Tinkerbell was surrendered by her elderly owner due to moving into a complex that does not accept pets. She is a very sweet, affectionate kitty who loves to sit in any available lap for attention, and purrs loudly! She is chatty, and will follow her favorite people around to talk and get attention.
Tinkerbell is 18 years old, and has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies/FVRCP, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and has had a senior blood panel and dental cleaning. The blood panel indicated that she is in the early stages of renal failure, so she is eating canned food.

Additional adoption info

Anyone who is interested in adoption may send us an e-mail and request an application. We will process all applications that are received, and we will make a decision based on the applicant that is most suitable for any given pet, regardless of the order in which applications are received. We do not work on a first-come-first-served basis. We will make an appointment for approved applicants to pick up their new family members. All adopters are expected to sign an adoption contract and pay a fee to help defray medical and other expenses incurred. Shipping animals unaccompanied is unpredictable and very stressful for the animals. Hidden Treasures will NOT ship pets under any circumstances. Adopters will pick up their pets in person and transport them directly to their new home in an appropriately sized hard plastic pet carrier. If the pet is being transported by air, adopters are expected to bring the pet on board the plane. We reserve the right to deny applications for any reason.

More about this rescue

Hidden Treasures Adoption Center (HTAC) is a non-profit foster based cat rescue organization located in Kensington, Connecticut. Since our founding in 2004, the rescue has found homes for over 1,300 cats. The organization is sustained through adoption fees and donations. Our small all-volunteer staff takes no compensation and we have no overhead costs associated with a facility. All cats in our care are housed either by volunteer fosters associated with the rescue or at a Pet Supplies Plus store that generously offers their support.

The mission of Hidden Treasures Adoption Center is to:

*Rescue cats from situations that are abusive, unsafe, or neglectful.
*Provide necessary veterinary care.
*Provide foster homes for cats in our care.
*Place rescued cats into permanent adoptive homes best suited for the particular needs of each individual cat.
*Provide post-adoption services to help adopted cats settle into their new homes.
*Promote the importance of spaying/neutering domestic animals.
*Educate the public on how to help prevent animal cruelty.

Hidden Treasures Adoption Center is the trade name (also called a DBA or “doing business as”) for New Beginnings Cat Rescue CT, Inc. We are registered with the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are also registered with the State of Connecticut as a public charity.
