My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oregano!
Oregano is a tiny dwarf hamster with an even tinier heart… but somehow it’s still big enough to hold a LOT of love. This little fluff-nugget is curious, gentle, and always busy rearranging her nest like a miniature interior designer.
Oregano enjoys:
• piling all her bedding in one dramatic corner
• stuffing her cheeks
• politely staring at you while you prepare her snacks
She’s looking for a calm home where she can continue her important activities: exploring tunnels, taste-testing sunflower seeds, and being adorable. Oregano doesn’t ask for much—just a safe habitat, gentle handling, and someone who will appreciate her tiny toe beans.
If you’re ready for a pocket-sized friend with a big personality, Oregano is excited to meet you!
*Price includes her cage and supplies.

Additional adoption info

We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. To reduce the animals' overall stress levels, we have decided to limit animal viewing to those people with appointments for specific animals.

How it works:

1. Check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, fill out that species adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet to start the adoption process. Please be sure to include the name of the animal that you are interested in adopting. Questionnaires will only be reviewed if a specific animal is identified. You aren't obligated to adopt that pet, but it's a place to start.

2. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that it often takes several days before you are contacted. We appreciate your patience! (If it has been longer than one week and you haven’t heard from us, please email us.)

3. Most animals will be available to go home the same day as the adoption meeting.

Adoptions by Appointment
Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
