Greg is a handsome three-year-old gentleman weighing in at a petite 8.8 pounds. This striking black domestic shorthair has all the glamour of a mini Bombay cat—jet-black, glossy fur, glowing amber eyes, a muscular little frame, and even a touch of white tucked inside his ears. He’s truly a showstopper.
His foster mom calls him “the perfect cat,” and it’s easy to see why. Once Greg settles in, he blossoms into an affectionate, attentive companion who loves pets and cozy lap time—without being clingy or demanding. He enjoys being near his person, making biscuits contentedly, and sharing quiet snuggles.
Greg is playful and social, especially with other cats. He would REALLY love a home with friendly feline companions to wrestle, chase toys, and curl up beside. If another cat isn’t interested? No drama—Greg simply moves along. He’s all about good vibes. He also happily entertains himself with curly pipe cleaners, soft toys, and an enthusiastic game of toy chase with his people.
While he’s not big on being held for long stretches, he’s perfectly fine with being picked up. He has excellent manners—faithful to the litter box, devoted to scratching posts, cooperative with nail trims, and always ready for mealtime. He’s also delightfully expressive, with a charming range of soft meows, happy trills, and contented sighs.
Greg may need a little time to adjust to a new home. A cozy safe spot, gentle head rubs, a welcoming feline friend, and maybe a bit of tuna will quickly win him over. He especially loves bird and squirrel watching—and yes, his favorite bed comes with him!
If you’re looking for a sleek, sweet companion who thrives with feline friends and brings both playfulness and affection to the table, Greg is your guy. Meet him in Arlington, VA Posted 2/28/26

We strive to make the "purr-fect" match through our interview and application process. Adoption fees, which range from $165-$185, include all medical work (FELV/FIV testing, shots; spay/neuter, etc); home visits may be required prior to final placement. The majority of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs or as a companion to another young cat/kitten already in the home. Sorry, but we do not adopt very young kittens to families with children under 6 yrs old due to safety concerns for both child and kitten. Adopters also receive a certificate for a free comprehensive wellness exam at any Caring Hands Animal Hospital.

More about this rescue
We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. We actively promote the importance of spaying and neutering and best practices in companion animal care. The majority of our cats/kittens come from high-kill shelters. We do not receive any government funding and rely on private contributions, 100% of which go to provide medical care, food and supplies.
