My story

COURTESY POST – NOT A GPRRUM DOG

Great Pyrenees Rescue Resources of Utah & Montana is sharing this post as a courtesy. Bear is not in our rescue, but we want to help his family find him a safe, loving new home. If you’re interested, please contact the owner directly using this information:
Spencer Empey <spencer.empey@gmail.com>

Poor 3 year old Pyrenees boy Bear startled the maintenance guy who came for an unscheduled inspection on the home his owner was renting.  Bear, being a great guard dog, barked and scared off the maintenance tech since he was a stranger entering his home while his human was not around.  This resulted in a call from the landlord saying that because of the size of Bear and his "threatening demeanor" that his owner either needed to re-home him or forfeit the lease.  Sadly the owner was recently divorced with shared custody of children making moving not an option.

Bear is such a good boy.  He is stubborn, but so very loving and playful.  He gets along so well with kids and other dogs including the yellow lab mix he lives with.  Unfortunately his nature of being protective of his home and his human has made it that he cannot continue staying with his owner.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to help the innocent sweet pups that don't have a voice. Many of the dogs come in sick, emaciated and covered in matts, we are here to provide funding for the vet bills and grooming. We also fund the feeding of the pups while they are in foster care and boarding. Educating the public on the treatment of the livestock guardian dogs is something we take very seriously. We are here to fight for their rights and do everything we can to get them covered under animal cruelty laws. They don't have a voice so you will never stop hearing ours!
