My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shuri & Ling Ling – A Perfect Pair of House Panthers

What’s better than one sleek black cat? Two. And this bonded mother-son duo is pure magic together. Shuri, the delicate “soot sprite,” and Ling Ling, her bold little velvet shadow, balance each other in the most beautiful way. Their story began on the streets, where Shuri was still just a kitten herself when she became pregnant and did everything she could to protect her baby in dangerous circumstances. For a long time, they only had each other. Now safe in foster care, they’re ready to find a forever home — together.

Shuri thrives in a calm environment and needs a patient adopter who understands she is still learning to trust human affection. She is a young, timid girl who has been through a lot, and while she can be playful with her baby, she is more reserved with people at first. She may hide when meeting new people or children, but she has been gentle and patient. She has also been exposed to other cats and, while timid initially, has had no issues — as long as she has her Ling Ling by her side. Ling Ling, on the other hand, is wonderful with kids, loves humans and animals alike, and would fit in just about anywhere — but he must go to his forever home with his mama Shuri, whom he loves deeply and always protects. These two are a bonded pair and truly need each other to thrive.

Ling Ling is the brave protector and the social butterfly of the duo. A silky-soft “lap panther” who could easily be mistaken for a blanket, he lives for attention. He’s first in line at mealtime, first to greet you for “lovins,” and first to launch into joyful zoomies across the room. He loves chasing the little bug-on-a-string toy and does the most dramatic “Halloween cat” pose while stalking his prey — it’s absolutely hilarious. After playtime, he’s a professional sunbather, often found belly-up in a warm beam of light. And when it’s time to rest? Straight to your lap. He shows his mama every day that laps are for napping and humans are for cuddling.

Shuri is the quiet, steady love in this pair. She’s curious but cautious — watching you carefully before gathering the courage to join in. Once she does, she melts into chin scratches and ear rubs, offering sweet little chirps and a gentle presence that feels incredibly special. She’s a total wet food connoisseur and 100% Churu motivated — bring out a treat tube and you’ve officially passed her vibe check. She’s still discovering toys and zoomies for herself, slowly realizing that she’s allowed to be playful, too. Underneath her timid exterior is a loving young cat who just needs someone kind enough to show her the world is safe.

Ling Ling gives Shuri confidence. Shuri gives Ling Ling steady devotion. Together, they are the perfect balance of playful energy and gentle affection. If you have room in your heart and home for two beautiful house panthers — one bold and silly, one tender and blossoming — Shuri and Ling Ling are ready to bring double the love into your life.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in Forever Fortunate Felines.  We are very happy to have the opportunity to match you with your purr-fect cat-panion!

Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent.  We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level.  This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family.

In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here:
http://www.foreverfortunatefelines.org/adopt

Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue.  Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten.

Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day.  Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet.  We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier.  If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day.  If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $10 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home.  We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.

Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age.  We are able to PayPal or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.

We have streamlined our adoption process to make it easy!  Everything from the application, to payment, to the contract is online.  Additionally, all of the cats records will be placed in your free Petlovers account at petstablished.com to keep organized.
