My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Octavia, a smart, expressive lady with a big personality and an even bigger purr! In a calm setting, she absolutely melts, rolling onto her side, making biscuits, chatting softly and soaking up attention. She loves being near her people and will happily meows for company when she sees you!

Octavia has shown that she can be quite overwhelmed in busy, unpredictable environments and certain handling. She`s looking for a quiet, adult-only home with someone who understands and respects feline body language.

This affectionate, loyal kitty is sure to bond with her person in a peaceful home without children, where her boundaries are respected and she can thrive! If you`re looking for a devoted companion to share quiet evenings and heartfelt sessions, Octavia may be your girl!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
