This was the neighborhood stray. He has been around here for about 3 year; so, I am assuming his age is relatively close. This is a hard case and needs someone extremely open to a challenge.
I caught him thinking that we could neuter and release. Turns out he has FIV positive. I have five indoor cats so I cannot keep him and don't think it is right to release him back into the neighborhood due to his FIV status.
This guy needs someone who has no other cats, will not let him outside because he is a stray (I could see him reverting and running away), and is willing to take time for him to become affectionate. He still does not allow us to pet him even though we give him a lot of food...It will take time.
I know this isn't the best sale's pitch but I want to be honest and let you know what you are committing to.
