Approximate date of birth 10/21/25 | Shadow is a spirited little guardian with a tender heart tucked beneath his shy exterior. Shadow is naturally skittish and slow to trust, often observing the world from a safe distance before deciding it's okay to join in. But once he feels secure, his energetic side shines  he adores toys, especially anything he can chase, pounce on, or Âdefend from imaginary intruders. Shadow has a surprisingly protective nature for such a small kitten. He forms deep bonds with the people he trusts, and once you're in his circle, he keeps a watchful eye on you in his own quiet way. He may claim certain cozy spots or toys as Âhis, not out of aggression, but because he's learning how to feel safe and grounded in his environment. With patience, gentle routines, and respect for his boundaries, Shadow will blossom into a loyal, attentive companion who brings both playfulness and devotion into your home. He's the kind of kitten who may take time to warm up, but once he chooses you, he chooses you wholeheartedly. | Cats- requires feline companion if home alone for long periods of time | Dogs- unknown | Kids- Can live with children over 5.| Health information: All cats and kittens are spayed and neutered, preventatively dewormed, and microchipped. In addition, they are FeLV/FIV tested and vaccinated as appropriate by age. | Interested in adopting? Apply to meet and adopt. | How to apply: please fill out application at https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply/March 7, 2026, 2:44 pm

Additional adoption info

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/
We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.
We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue
Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.
If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!
All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
