My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sister Bobbie is so cute- she is like if a Californian was shrunk in the dryer. She was transferred from animal control after being rescued from an interesting situation- there were 18 rabbits, dogs, cats, and a human all living in a shed together. Luckily, the human sought help!
Bobbie is a skittish gal because of her past, but is so much more curious about interaction than a typical hoarder pet. She thumps a lot to let us know how she feels, but will also sneak up to us and boop our hand affectionately with her nose. She wants to be best friends, she just needs to build up her confidence, and her ideal adopter should have the patience to facilitate that.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application

Go meet their pets

We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

More about this shelter

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
