Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Whether you're interested in a specific pet or not, fill out our application online at houstonpetsalive.org.
- Meet the Pet
- Once your application is approved, a meet and greet will be set up between you and your pet of interest.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- If the meet and greet goes well and your adoption application is approved, you will sign the adoption contract.
- Pay Fee
- Once the adoption contract is signed, you will pay the adoption fee.
- Take the Pet Home
- Bring your new best friend home! Remember that it will take some time for him/her to adjust to their new environment.

All of our adoptable animals can be viewed at www.houstonpetsalive.org. An approved adoption application is needed prior to meeting our pets.
