Estimated age: 4.5 years old
Ricky is a vocal and sweet guy who purrs nonstop. He is adventurous and absolutely LOVES catnip. He has lived with a small (11 lb) dog and other cats. He is just an overall fun and loving cat.
Backstory: Ricky came from a home where there were over 70 cats living in and around the home! We've been able to help with around 50 cats from this house so far but it has not been an easy task. It started a year and a half ago when a group of volunteers including a veterinarian from a local clinic had been going out to the house to pull cats to slowly chip away at the numbers. They were prioritizing sick cats, moms/kittens, and females who were not spayed as the main goal is to stop the cycle as quickly as possible. At that time, Ricky was microchipped and vaccinated (he was already neutered) but he was not pulled because we didn't have enough foster homes and we were prioritizing sick cats, moms with kittens, unfixed cats, and babies. There were a few times that we would have been able to take Ricky, but of course he would never show up on those days. Finally we had the space, the help of an amazing local organization so we could bring in 30 cats at a time, and Ricky was around so we were able to take him in!

Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption.
