My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi… I’m Spartacus.
I may have a mighty name, but I’m actually a gentle, quiet soul. I’m a senior gentleman who prefers soft voices, slow movements, and cozy corners where I can watch the world from a safe distance. New situations can make me a little shy at first, but once I realize I’m safe, you’ll see the sweet, tender heart behind these wise old eyes.
I’m not looking for adventure or chaos, I’m looking for peace. A calm home where I can take my time settling in would be perfect for me. I enjoy warm beds, sunny windowsills, and the simple comfort of knowing my people are nearby. When I trust you, I’ll lean into your hand for gentle pets and quietly keep you company like the loyal companion I am.
At this stage in my life, I’m all about the little things: a soft blanket, a steady routine, and someone who understands that love sometimes grows slowly but deeply.
If you’re searching for a sweet senior friend to share your quiet moments, I’m ready to lay down my sword and retire into a life of comfort and care.
Love, Spartacus

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
