🐶 🐕 JUNI Female border collie mix approximately 1 Year, 36 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶
Juni is a 1-year-old, 36# spayed female, who thinks she is a puppy. She is sweet & happy to meet people, even at the vet's office. She loves to go for a visit at her friend Amanda's house, zooming all around that yard, stealing toys she finds hidden in the garden, & snuggling on the couch after a good romp. This girlie loves to snuggle!
Juni is crazy about toys, especially her Hollee-Roller ball. She will toss it in the air for herself, catching it & running loops around the yard with it. She also likes to play fetch with her foster mom & is learning that when she brings the toy back, her foster mom will throw it again. Juni also likes hard chew toys like antlers, hoofs, & pizzles. Even when she's in her crate, she is wagging her tail & playing with her toys. She does need to be supervised in the house so that she doesn't mistake one of your things for a toy of hers. She is learning to "leave it" or "bring it to me."
Juni enjoys meeting other dogs on her walks. And she plays boundlessly with her foster brother. They take turns chasing each other & wrestling. And Juni runs like the wind! She is not sure about her foster sister, who is as crabby as they come. Juni initially defers & backs up when Nancy tells her, but minutes later she tries again to engage Nancy in play. Juni would not be a good fit for a home with cats because of her relentless joy in running & chasing.
Juni is learning to walk on a leash, to sit, & to wait before coming through doors--crate doors & house doors. She has a great recall. And she is both treat & toy-motivated. So, while Juni seems not to have had much guidance in her previous home, she has a nice desire to please & wants to learn. She wants to be included, & likes to go places in the car, riding quietly in her crate. She is crate-trained, & is making great progress in her house-training, pottying on command--even on leash. She sleeps through the night without having to go outside, but during the day she still needs to be taken outside often & reinforced for pottying outside.
Juni is friendly, sweet, active, & wants to learn. She is agile & fast & a nice size. She might enjoy dogs sports like agility or nosework & activities where she can run like sprints on a beach or playing chase with her dog pal. She would enjoy most anything she would get to do with her person. She will not be content with playing fetch & walks around the black. She wants fun, learning opportunities, & activity, & then to hang out with her people. She can live happily as an only dog, or with a dog that matches her exuberant play style.
JUNI is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about JUNI, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org.
