Five-month-old Toffee has come a long way in a short time. He was trapped at the beginning of December alongside his feral mom and three siblings. While mom has since been spayed and released, Toffee and his siblings enrolled in our very important “kitten bootcamp” — where they’ve been learning all about indoor life, toys, and trusting people.
Because Toffee was a bit older when he started socializing, he’s taken his time figuring out that humans are actually pretty great. And we can confidently say… he’s gotten there.
Toffee is the sweetest boy. He can be pet, held, and even gives the most precious little hugs — placing his fluffy paws up on your shoulders like he’s giving you a tiny kitten embrace. It’s hard not to melt.
That said, Toffee is still wary of new people and new situations. He will need a patient adopter who understands that building trust is a process. With continued gentle work in his new home, his social skills will keep blossoming. The wonderful news? We’ve already seen how much progress he’s capable of making.
Toffee also has LOTS of glorious fur — and it will need regular maintenance. Thankfully, he actually seems to enjoy being brushed and will happily sit in your lap for spa time. (A long-haired king in the making!)
Toys are the key to Toffee’s heart — especially wand toys, which are a fantastic way to build his confidence and bond with him. He also has a deep love for food… tube treats are basically magic in Toffee’s world.
Toffee absolutely thrives with other cats. His foster friend Candy Corn has been his other half and mentor, playing a huge role in building his confidence. He also adores Harlan. We would love to see Toffee adopted with one of these special friends. If that isn’t possible, he must have another friendly, confident cat in his new home who can continue to show him the ropes — Toffee learns so much by watching and following the lead of other kitties.
Toffee’s brother was recently adopted and is thriving with his new family, which makes us so hopeful for Toffee’s bright future. With patience, consistency, a confident feline buddy, and a little extra love, Toffee is going to grow into the very best boy.
If you believe in the magic of earning a shy cat’s trust, Toffee may just be your perfect match. 💛

Our adoption process is detailed and takes time because we strive to match each adopter with the perfect cat while ensuring our cats find the best possible homes.

Why Was a Cat’s Bio Removed?
From time to time, you may notice that a cat’s bio has been removed from our website. There are several possible reasons for this, and we want to provide some clarity.
Most often, a bio is removed because the cat has been adopted — which is always wonderful news!
In other cases, a bio may be temporarily taken down because the cat is receiving medical care or treatment, and we want to focus on their recovery before accepting new applications.
Sometimes, we remove a bio because we’ve received an overwhelming number of applications and need time to carefully review them. We work hard to thoughtfully match each cat with the best possible home, and that process takes time.
Lastly, a bio may be removed if the cat has an upcoming meet-and-greet, and we are waiting to see how that visit goes before moving forward.
If a cat’s bio is no longer posted, it simply means they are not currently available for new applications. We always update our website as soon as a cat becomes available again.
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our rescue efforts! 🐾
