My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I`m Gabriella!

I`ll be honest with you, when we first meet, I might not run right up to greet you. I`m a little shy at first, and I like to take my time checking out a new space and deciding if I trust you. But here`s the thing: I *will* come around, and when I do, it`ll mean so much more because I chose you.

Now, if you want to get on my good side fast, food is basically a cheat code with me. I eat just about anything and I`m not picky in the slightest. Honestly, mealtime is one of my favorite parts of the day.

I`m not really a lap cat or a `pick me up and carry me around` kind of girl. I like affection on my own terms — a slow blink here, brushing up against your legs there. Once I`m comfortable with you, I may come and sit next you on the couch. But sometimes I just need a little space, especially if I`ve had too much petting at once. I`ll let you know when I`ve had enough, and I just ask that you respect that.

What I *am* is a seriously fun little goober when it comes to playtime. Give me a straw -- yes, a regular drinking straw -- and I am ready to play! I`m great at entertaining myself, too, so you don`t have to worry about me getting bored while you`re busy. I also love a good laser pointer! Oh boy, I will run around the house chasing after those things!

I`d thrive in a calm, patient home where someone lets me warm up at my own pace. I promise I`m worth the wait.

Additional adoption info

At the Atlanta Humane Society, we process adoptions two different ways depending on whether an animal is physically housed at our Atlanta or Roswell location or in a foster home. The adoption process is listed in each animal’s biography so that you’ll know if you need to fill out a pre-adoption application form or visit them at our shelter to adopt. You can learn more about our adoption processes on our adoption process page.

More about this shelter

At the Atlanta Humane Society, we take special care to make sure the animals we house are a good fit for the homes they go to. We have a variety of friendly, healthy, tail-wagging furry friends just brimming with love to give. They’ve been seen by a vet and a behavior team, are up-to-date on vaccines, and go home with starter kit to help you get started off on the right paw. Even if they can’t say it out loud, when you find the right animal, you’ll feel the gratitude and affection. Your new best friend is waiting for you!
