Meet Wanderin' Winnie! I bet you're wondering how we named this kitty. Well, her name is no exaggeration, Winnie just wandered straight to our shelter! We have no idea where she came from, but we do know that she's an affectionate baby who stole our hearts with her sweet little meows and biscuits. She is super playful and loves toys, always ready to chase, pounce, and bat at anything that moves. Winnie also likes to follow you around, and once you sit down, she will happily hop into your lap for cuddles, making her the perfect combination of energetic playmate and loving companion. Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Visit www.abandonedpetrescue.org to see adoptable cats and dogs. Fill out an application for the pet(s) you would like to meet and adopt.

2.
Meet the Pet

Once you have filled out an application, a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit APR.

3.
Approve Application

APR does not do same day adoptions and takes multiple applications on each pet to best match pets and families. APR may do home checks.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If approved, you will sign a contract and pay the adoption fee. All pets are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.

5.
Take the Pet Home

APR hopes you stay in touch by joining APR's Facebook Alumni Page. Adopters can reach out to APR at any time with questions or concerns.

Additional adoption info

You must be 21 years old to adopt and have never been convicted on animal cruelty or neglect.

Adoption Fees:
Kitten $75/ Cat over a year $60/ Two kittens or cats $100 Puppy $175/ Dog over a year $150/ Two puppies/ dogs $250

Fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines and tests for common illnesses

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
