Buddy is a one-year-old, handsome fellow. He is part Brittany, part Basset Hound. Buddy had a rough start in life, growing up with 6 of his littermates in the same house after his owner passed away. He was bullied quite a lot and didn't get much human attention. He is making up for that now. He LOVES being with one attentive person. He does not like being left alone and will be by your side every moment that he can.
He is very smart and has learned not to jump up on people. He has learned to sit, give a paw, give another paw, and lie down, all within about a month. So the more time you spend with him, the more he will learn.
He does not like being kenneled and will whine loudly if confined. This will need to be worked on. Buddy enjoys sleeping with his humans at bedtime and will lie quietly on the bed throughout the night.
Buddy will need someone who can spend a lot of time with him, and he will need to be crated when left alone. He tends to be very mouthy and will try to investigate and chew on most things, so it’s important to puppy-proof your home.
He is also learning to fetch and loves watching and chasing birds. With those long legs, fortunately, he does not attempt to jump fences!
Buddy's adoption fee is $400 to offset the cost of vetting and to help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Virginia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad. For more information, please contact Leslie Trenta @ leslietrentadesigns.com
