Runt was adopted from a litter of kittens found. I took all four and was able to find homes for three. He was always shy and skiddish. As he grew it became increasingly apparent he would not fit in with my other cats. This is not because he’s aggressive, but because he’s timid and shy. The other cats attack him so he stays hidden most of the time. This is no life for a cat.
Runt will make a perfect pet for someone retired, or who wants just one cat. He gets along great with my Golden Retriever. When the grandchildren come over, he hides. So, although he’s not aggressive, small children might not be a good fit if they’re wanting a cat they can hold.
Sadly, before I knew any better, I had him de-clawed. I now understand what that process entails and it haunts me. That said, if he’s lucky enough to be placed with a retired couple this might be helpful to them (in terms of them being accidentally scratched.). Once he feels safe, he loves to be petted and is extremely loving.
