My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stormy! This sweet boy may be shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time and patience and you’ll see just how loving he truly is. Once he feels safe and comfortable, Stormy enjoys being close to his people and will happily sleep beside you or even curl up right on top of you for the night. Stormy has a playful side, too! When he’s feeling confident, he loves to engage in games and show off his fun, energetic personality. He previously lived with another cat and may do well with a feline friend after slow, thoughtful introductions. If you’re willing to give him the time he needs to settle in, Stormy will repay you with loyalty, cuddles, and lots of love.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
