My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rooster is a Shepherd mix puppy with an estimated date of birth of 12/11/25, and he currently weighs about 16 pounds.

Rooster is everything you’d expect from a puppy and then some. He’s happy, outgoing, playful, and always ready to dive into the fun. Toys are his treasure, a good bone is pure bliss, and car rides are an adventure worth celebrating. When he’s not busy being adorable chaos on four legs, he’s happily following his people from room to room, making sure he doesn’t miss a single moment of the action.

As cute as he is, Rooster is a confident little guy. For a youngster, he can be a bit assertive and isn’t shy about challenging dogs bigger than he is. Because of that, he’ll need a committed family ready to start training early and help him learn his manners. He is very sweet and does listen, so with consistency and guidance, he’s going to grow into a fantastic companion. His rough and tumble play style is a little too much for young kiddos right now, so he would likely do best in a home with children 8 and older. He has also shown that he is not a good fit for homes with cats.

Rooster is looking for a family who’s ready for puppy energy, puppy training, and puppy love. If you’re ready to invest the time and guidance he needs, you’ll gain a loyal, lively best friend who wants nothing more than to be part of your world. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
