My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi thereeee 🤍 I’m Luke, professional cuddle enthusiast, part-time lap dog (even though I may or may not weigh more than your average lap can handle), and full-time good boy ☺️ I’m somewhere between 2 and 3 years old, which is the perfect age if you ask me. Old enough to know better, young enough to pretend I don’t when it comes to zoomies and snack time 😋 Car rides aren’t really my thing, but your lap is my absolute favorite. I don’t understand why people say I’m too big because I fit if I sit and that’s just science. And honestly, if you didn’t want an 85-pound weighted blanket that gives kisses, why are you even sitting down?

When I first got here I was a little timid and quiet because the world felt big and new, but then I got a bath and everything changed ✨ I realized I was a very handsome king and my confidence has been shining ever since. I’m playful 🎾 super loving and would happily cuddle 23 hours a day if you let me. Free hands are not allowed because those hands are meant for ear scratches, chest rubs, gentle head pats and then more ear scratches. My foster says it’s hard to take pictures of me because I’m always attached like Velcro but if you’re close enough to photograph me you’re close enough to cuddle me 🥰 I give unlimited kisses, I love to play, I’ve been great with other dogs especially ones my size who want to wrestle and zoom, and I’ve been sweet with smaller dogs too. Cats are still a mystery because I haven’t met one yet. I may be slightly spoiled already but I can’t help it, I lean into you with my sweet eyes and a tiny sigh and suddenly I’m getting treats and extra cuddles 🎁

At the end of the day I’m just a boy who wants to play, wants to love, wants to be loved and truly believes he is lap sized. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend, a cuddle bug, a part-time comedian and a full-time heart stealer, I’m your guy. Come meet me. I can’t promise I won’t hog the whole couch but I can promise I’ll make it worth it 🐾💕

More about this rescue

R.E.A.L Rottweiler Rescue was founded in 2003 by a couple with a passion and love for the Rottweiler breed. We are an all volunteer based 501c3 non-profit rescue organization. Our primary focus has been on Rottweilers, but we also rescue medium and large sized dogs of all breeds. We take in homeless rottweilers and work with them in our homes to assess personality, temperament, training and needs. Then place them up for adoption. Our goal is to find not just any home for each dog, but the perfect match for both the dog and its new family. To date, R.E.A.L. has had over 2000 successful adoptions!
