My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bingo, a sweet and curious boy with a playful spirit! When he first arrived, he was a little shy, but once he settled in and felt safe, his adventurous side quickly came out. Bingo loves to explore his surroundings, making every corner of the room his own little discovery mission.

He’s a big fan of his scratching post and takes his scratching duties very seriously! When he’s not perfecting his scratcher skills, you’ll find him happily batting around his favorite toy mouse. Playtime is one of his favorite parts of the day.

Bingo is incredibly friendly and enjoys meeting new people. His gentle and outgoing personality makes him an easy companion to fall in love with. Because he is FIV+, Bingo would need to be in a home with other FIV+ cats (or as a solo cat), where he can continue to thrive in a safe and loving environment.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate cat with a heart of gold, Bingo might just be your perfect match.

Additional adoption info

Adoption applicants must complete a screening form as the first step towards adopting a pet. Your application will be verified by staff who will explain the next step in your adoption process. All adoption criteria must be met before the adoption is approved. Once approved, you are under no obligation to complete the adoption if you change your mind.

Pets are placed in the best possible home if there is more than one application pending. We cannot place a hold, or accept a deposit, on a pet. Adopters may legally only adopt 2 pets within a 30 day period.

We can, and do, adopt to out-of-area homes given the applicant has physically interacted with the pet. We will not ship a pet.

How to Find a Good Match:
We have trained staff who can give you information on positive training, breed characteristics, temperament, activity level, and behavior. Please ask for assistance at the front desk, we’re more than happy to help you find a good match! If you are interested in a specific pet, note their name or intake number and inquire at (540)434-5270.

More about this shelter

As an open admission animal shelter, we accept any pet who comes through our doors regardless of breed, temperament, color, size, health, age, adoptability, or their previous owner’s or finder’s ability to pay for the duration of their stay with us. We do not require an appointment, surrender fee, nor a pre-surrender behavioral assessment. While not every pet we receive is healthy or temperamentally sound, we work with foster homes, limited admission “no kill” rescues, breed-specific rescues, and knowledgeable volunteers and adopters to ensure that as many pets as possible find a home. See our website rhspca.org for more information about us, and to see our list of available pets that is updated in real-time.
